The level of hardness of an abrasive tool depends on the strength used by the binding to keep the abrasive grains on the tool's surface.
Hardness depends on:

  • binding quantity
  • type of binding
  • structure (porosity) of the abrasive tool
  • type of the used tool
The level of hardness is classified by alphabetic characters:
